The new year only really began for the children when they returned to the centre and were able to see their many friends again. Although they also had to go back to school at the same time, the orphans were really looking forward to this reunion. Their smiles and joy in the family community are an example of how we can begin the new year.
For some children and young people, the year 2025 has brought major changes. Two talented young scholars from our center have entered a boarding school, where they will receive very good training and support. We therefore had to say goodbye to Tshegofatso and Kamogelo at the end of last year and wish them every success.
After successfully completing school, Dimakatso was able to start a two-year training course at a police academy and finally Prince, out of 1970 applicants, managed to attend a “life skills and work readiness camp” from January. Of the 40 participants, 30 will be selected for a 3-year apprenticeship as a plumber. We are confident that Prince will get an opportunity for the apprenticeship.
