For the majority of the children it was their first visit to a zoo. To see the animals alive and so close was a thrilling experience. The tiger and the lions were “royal”, the crocodiles and snakes “scary” and the monkeys just “very funny”. The whole day was something to marvel and admire, so that the children didn’t feel that they actually strolled around the big zoo for hours. Of course the lunch break with the nice picnic was welcomed all the same. They thoroughly enjoyed the day and also the caregivers enjoyed the happy atmosphere.
In the following weeks at the center the memory of this outing was kept alive with producing animal masks or with drawings of their favourite animals etc.
