We have already been able to recruit 40 unemployed young people in three groups into the one-year training program. All participants attend 3 months of basic training in a college and subsequently gather practical experience for 9 months as a Trainee in a selected company.
From the second course, Kearabetswe and Peter have an extremely interesting situation. They are in a small start-up company that is growing rapidly. The founder - winner of a Social Innovation Award for a recycling product - is very happy to have helping hands in the hectic time of starting the business. At the same time, the interns learn a lot of new things.
For example, they independently built an annex for snail breeding, which is needed for the production of hand creams. They are also able to produce various cleaning liquids with equipment imported from Germany and produce soaps from recycled oil. They are enthusiastic and motivated to be part of the further development of the young company. During our last visit, the owner welcomed us with the words "I won't let these two guys leave anymore". So it is a real WIN-WIN-Situation.
